AND IT SNOWED

Snow has finally come again and it was enough that the kids had a snow day, that means no school!!. We didn't get that much snow, probably around 3-4 inches as the weather reports said. I had to keep on checking the schools website before I went to sleep to see if there was any info. At around 5 a.m I woke up, thank goodness for Iphone I didn't have to go down to check the computer online. I was so glad to turn off the alarm on my phone when I saw that school was closed for Wednesday. I got to sleep for 2 more hours before the kids woke up. We woke up again to a blanket of white everywhere. Winter with snow is just so beautiful, clean and just so peaceful. If it was not dangerous to drive in snow and the condition I would wish for snow everyday in winter as it looks calmer. The kids had a wonderful time playing outside in the snow and stayed out as long as they could. Will be ever get as much snow as we did last year? Who knows, mother nature will just surprise us.

FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON

Saturday we got our first ever snow for this Winter season. It rained the whole day and by afternoon it started to snow. It was still a mix of snow and rain so the snow didn't really get a chance to stick to the ground. Kaitlyn was so excited to see the snow and wanted so bad to get out. Even if it was freezing cold I had to oblige when she gave me one of her goofy smile and said " I'm a go out mama, peeeessss?". She was in her nightgown so I just put her jacket on and threw her blanket over her legs and we went outside. We just stood by the porch and watched the snow while it was falling. After a long nap we woke up to our front yard and back covered in snow, it was still falling. But I knew that It was going to stop soon. I'm excited for my kids but I am so miserable for me. Luckily I have a very long warm coat to keep me warm when I walk and pick up Kayla at the bus stop. Its getting colder and colder and according to the farmers almanac this is going to be the coldest winter yet in 10 years for my place.

FROST

This morning we were greeted by the first frost of the season. The contrasting white sheen against the green color of the grass shows off the frost on the ground. Winter has really come early this year and I a lot of people have been saying that we are looking at a cold season. If your a regular reader of this blog you already know that I hate winter. Its just since I was born in a tropical country I feel like my body just rebel and wont accept the cold weather. It makes me miserable, my bones hurt, my skin dry. I am still lucky that even though I hate winter at least I don't have to wake up in the morning to go to work or drive through the snow for work. Getting ready to go out the door just takes longer now, with putting the gloves on, hat , scarf and jacket. The kids are all so bundled up and look like little hot dogs in a bun, lol. At least now I can really start looking forward to Summer which is a long time.

SHE ENJOYS THE WEATHER

Yesterday was not only cold but very windy. You could hear the howling and whistling of the wind outside. I didn't want to go out but i had no choice, hubby already left to do some overtime and i had to pick up Kayla at the bus stop. To make matters worse, i had to bring the baby with me in the blistering cold since MIL had a doctors appointment and had to leave. Leaving the baby in the house is totally out of the question. Kaitlyn loves going outside and i know she would enjoy going out to pick her big sister at the bus stop. Before it was time for us to go i made sure the baby was bundled up warmly and of course me. When we got out she was so happy and just wanted to walk and walk, if i picked her up she would wiggle to get down. Every time a big wind would come she would giggle and smile, she loved the cold wind on her face. I was freezing my butt off at the bus stop but there she was all smiles and happy walking around. I wish i had my children's tolerance for the cold.

REPRIEVE

Ye hey! I got a reprieve today from going out in the cold morning to walk Kayla to the bus stop. Since Ralph was home he usually walks her and also gets her at the bus stop in the afternoon. He knows i hate going outside in the cold weather and he takes pity on me. I just wake him up when its almost time to go out the door. The baby would cry every time they would leave, wanting to go out in the cold weather. If only it wasn't so darn cold i would take her out for a stroll but now that its definitely winter its out of the question. She is just stuck here in the house with me and terrorizing the dog and cats and making a mess of the whole house. Poor mama will have to clean up after her but still, i would rather stay inside than go outside...
