Lazy weekend

Weekends are usually lazy days for all of us.. That means sleeping in past 9 am and staying in our pj's all day long. We did go to a couple of stores to get some much needed supplies like my rice but other than that we just stayed home. The kids were busy playing with each other, fight broke out here and there. And of course Mama is the referee and judge. While kids were busy playing I was surfing online and browsing through other people post on FB. I also frequent my favorite site hoping to catch great deals from food, clothing, toys, household items, accessories and many more. As it happens there was a good deal for sterling silver jewelry just what my sister likes. I wasn't able to take advantage of it but I know something will come up again. My sister is graduating from her culinary course in June. It would make a great gift for her. Well, I still have a few months left so have plenty of time to decide what her graduation present will be.

HOW I RECHARGE

What do you do when you get bored feeling burned out? As a stay at home mom I do get burned out. I rarely do or buy anything for myself. Its all about family, not that I mind but sometimes I need time for myself and just relax. My one form of relaxation and charging my battery is going to the Mall. Not to go shopping mind you but to window shop and go people watching. Most of the time I go home with nothing or with something less than $20. My mantra when going to the Mall is not to spend on one single Item over $25. Even with a very tight budget or no budget at all I do have fun specially now that I have a window shopping buddy, my youngest daughter. She loves going to the mall and looking at different things be it from shoes, bags to clothes. She even loves to try things on and will give very honest opinion if I look good or not. She has a knack for fashion and loves looking at fashion accessories. At one store she was so busy trying on a couple of hats, stackable rings, necklaces and stacks and stacks of bangle bracelets. She would even ask me to take a picture of her while she tries on some stuff. Even though she tries on those things she knows that we won't be buying any of it. She knows that we are only looking and trying them on. Like most kids she does ask from time to time if we could buy certain items and I would always tell her that we didn't have the money for it. I am proud to say that she doesn't have a hissy fit when she doesn't get what she wants in the mall. She understand and would say " mama when you have money will you buy it for me?". It breaks my heart when she says that but I have to teach my daughter that she can't have anything she wants. Sure, I can very well afford to buy a lot of things but I choose not to. Still, we both have a grand old time just browsing around and at the end of the day, with or without purchase we end up enjoying each others company more.

HANDY POUCH

Travel Neck Pouch that I ordered on Amazon.com. My first ever purchase on the popular site and I am very much satisfied. The order took about less than 5 days and before I knew it, it was in our mailbox. I was happy that it got delivered early since I bought that for our Philippine trip. All the important documents, I.D's, passports and money was in that little thing. It came in handy, I didn't have to reach inside my bag to search around for our passports and money. The best thing about the travel neck pouch is that I bought it very very cheap. This thing won't see daylight in the next 3 years until our next Vacation, or maybe not. If we do push with our plan to go to Disney next year I will be using it once again.

BAGHEERA AND KEEPER

Finally after some time I bought a new bag and wallet to replace my much bigger bag. The other bag I carried around before was 2 times bigger than this one. Things got lost in my other bag and MIL and hubby complains that its much too heavy, lol. Well its true, It was to heavy and bulky for me to be lugging around on a day to day basis. I got the bag and wallet the other day at Walmart. Yes I am a Walmart shopper, I love shopping there specially with the prizes they offer. The bag is only $16 and the wallet $7. I can't afford to buy a bag that is over $25, I just can't see myself right now buying something expensive when a cheaper one will do. Let me rephrase that, I can afford to buy a bag over $25 but I wont, not now. I'm not saying I will never buy a bag over $25 but its unlikely that I won't. See? I'm contradicting myself, whatever! All I'm saying is I would rather have that extra money in my wallet than having an expensive bag that I have nothing in my wallet. Hey, I have nothing against women who love and collect expensive bags. If you have the money and can afford, then by any means go ahead and please yourself. To each its own. So far I am happy with my purchase and If I could have gotten a cheaper bag I'd return this in a heartbeat. But this one kinda grew on me, I think I'll keep her for a long time, if she holds up to all my junk. And I shall name her Bagheera, like the panther character in jungle book. And the wallet shall be named Keeper.

If your curious to keep checking on days to follow what is inside my bag.
