REPEATED CYCLE

As a housewife one of your many duties is keeping up with the household chores. I know a lot of people think that being a stay at home mom is easy peezy, not! Don't get me wrong, I am very thankful that my husband has given me the luxury of not having to work and earn money. I do my part in our marriage and its to keep everything together. Lately I have been lagging behind on my house work. Cleaning up over and over again, dusting, laundry, vacuuming, tidying up,washing dishes the cycle just repeats over and over again. The inside of our house needs more decoration, little knick-knacks here and there. I need entertainment centers for the family room and the playroom, more picture frames, shelves, stair runners and window treatments. That is going to be my project for this year, to try and make our house more homey and lived in. Its a good thing I'll be seeing my mom soon so she can give me great tips on how to decorate my house without breaking the bank.

BREATHING CLEAN AIR

Winter is the time where parents are on high alert when it comes to cold, fever, cough and so many more. I not only dread the winter but I worry if my kids are going to get sick. My youngest is only 26 months old and when she gets sick I worry so much. The first time she got a bad cold was when she was less than 3 months old. She was so stuffed up and had such a hard time breathing. Our Pediatrician encouraged us to get a cold mist humidifier to help with her breathing. Not only did we buy one but Ralph got two, one for each kids room. The only problem I have with the humidifier is changing the filters constantly. Speaking of filters, we have to look into putting an air filter in our house. It's important that our kids breath clean air specially inside the house. That is on our to do list to improve the living condition in our home. Having a good air filter helps with the allergens in the air. Now where was I? Back to the humidifier, I go to tell Ralph to buy a filter when he goes out to buy the salt tomorrow. There is going to be snowstorm starting tomorrow so preparations are in order.

MINI KITCHEN MAKE OVER

Before this year ended we finally finished our mini-kitchen renovation. We started our kitchen makeover last October. It was a stressful month for since it was Kaitlyn and Ralph birthday and I had planned a party. I had no idea that our kitchen counter won't be in until the the end of October. The party went off without a hitch even though we had no kitchen counter and most importantly sink. Our kitchen was finally finished before Thanksgiving. We bought a new dishwasher, stove, new flooring, backsplash and a new fresh coat of paint. We also had a little bit of difficulty choosing the back splash for our kitchen to match the new counter. One of our other option was stainless steel backsplash or tiles. It the end the tiles won hands down, we did use a little bit of stainless steel backsplash on a part behind our kitchen stove. I didn't really want to at first coz I thought I looked tacky and cheap but it actually looks very clean and chic. At least we are done with everything.

MORE PRESENTS

Yesterday the girls got more presents from their Uncle Larry. He got Kaitlyn a big stuffed bear which is bigger than her, a Zhu-zhu pet, Spongebob soap bar, a clothe tiara, mirror and a wand.. She got so shy when she saw the big bear but she did gave her uncle and aunt a big hug and a kiss. We all converged in the kitchen while we caught up with everyone, as if we haven't seen each other for ages,lol.. My niece said that our kitchen faucet looks weird but nice, she has never seen a faucet like ours before. I told her it looks unique, simple and elegant. She said it looked like something from Kohler faucets line. When our faucet is compared to Kohler it must mean it looks elegant. They also mentioned that our kitchen floor looks very nice and according to my BIL it made the KITCHEN. I'm just glad I got a kitchen to cook, wash from the holidays.

BEING TOGETHER

Christmas is over and the New Year is coming. We don't have plans for the New Year since Ralph will be working the midnight shift,It means we will be ourselves. There are times that I get paranoid when we are left alone. It's those times that I really wish we had some sort of a wireless security systems in our house. Thankfully we are in a pretty safe development and I have not heard any break-ins or anything. It still pays to be careful and vigilant so thats why I always make sure the doors and windows are all locked before going to bed. At least when Ralph comes home on the January 1st we will all be here in the house. It comforts me about the thought of just being together on that day. I wish I was back home to celebrate it with a loud bang, maybe I will be able to....

OUR VERY OWN

Part of the American dream is having a house you can call your own. When I got here the house had already been bought, the transfer was done but the packing was not over yet. Both Ralph and I are lucky enough to have a house that in a few years time will really be ours. I have always wondered though what manufactured home are like inside. My husband said its no different from our house and they are built to last. Homes like that are built to meet the standards of Department of House and Urban Development. Therefore those houses are safe, durable and they do look very homey.
