Grinch?

We just got back from dropping off our youngest to school. Ahhhhh!!! A moment to relax and read what's going on.

Have you seen the movie " The Grinch who stole Christmas?" . Well it's no longer a movie, it's also happening in real life. I could not believe when I read the news HEERE about how 6k worth of toys from the Toys for Tots drive in Seattle were stolen. What has the world come to? I feel bad for all those organizers hard work. Not only that but the disappointment in the children's faces. What is the thief going to do with that many toys? Sell them on eBay? It's just leaves a bad taste in my mouth how some people have no remorse doing evil things. But according to organizers, the community have been rallying and helping out. It's good to know that inspite of the evil lurking around, goodness in people's heart still prevails. I for one am buying a couple of toys and donating them to charity supported by my local Walgreens. It's may not be much but to one little girl or boy it will make Christmas extra special.

A GRANDDAUGHTERS GIFT

One of the person that left a great impact in my life is my grandma. Growing up we fought like cats and dogs, I hated her with a passion. Everything I did was all wrong or I would do things wrong just to annoy her. My mom was torn between me and my grandma, me as her daughter and my grandma as her mother. I don't know when I started understanding my grandma. I think it was when I was in college and would spent summer in our hometown. We got so close and I really understand and love her now more than ever. That is why when I saw the news about an Omaha couple who chose to have their wedding at a nursing home so her grandmother could see her walk down the aisle really touched me. It was indeed a granddaughters gift to grandma, one that she really values. I would do the same thing for my grandma in a heartbeat. She is the glue that holds our whole family together. She is strong but compassionate, her words may sting but with reason behind it, she is one of a kind. I miss her so much and I was so glad to see her when I went home last July, 2010. It will be another 3 years before I can go home again but she will be in my heart forever.

ANY PARENTS NIGHTMARE

A parents worst nightmare is seeing their child get hurt. But how would you feel and react when your face in a situation that you are seeing your child body floating in water or be it sinking in the water? Sarah a friend of mine went through that nightmare. She had just put her youngest son Joey for a nap when she could not find her oldest. She found her floating face down in their swimming pool. She jumped in and just got her out and just administered CPR to her little girl. I can't imagine the horror she was in, she said it was her living nightmare. I don't know if I would have reacted the same way if it was me but when a parent is faced with that kind of situation our instinct kicks in. Just like what the dad and the good samaritan did on that miraculous day . According to an eyewitness who was able to take a video of the incident the father jumped in to save his two year old little girl in the freezing water. The picture of him with holding on to a rope with his daughter lifeless on his chest was just heartbreaking. This news did not end in tragedy, the child started crying a few minutes and both father and daughter are fine. I hope to God I will never be have a situation in my hands like that. Accidents happen no matter how much keep we keep and eye on our kids, all we have to do is to be prepared and calm and rise up to the challenge when the situation calls for it.

Here is a clip of the interview of one of the people who witnessed the rescue of the 2 year old little girl :

KANGAROO or RAMBOROO

Kangaroo's are abound in Australia. I remember seeing a Kangaroo in person when I was about 4 years old. My mom and Dad took us to the circus where I got to see an Kangaroo in a boxing ring with gloves on. To me a Kangaroo is fluffy, soft, cuddly and hops around. But to one unfortunate Australian man the Kangaroo became Ramboroo. Chris Rickard a 49 year old man apparently startled a sleeping Kangaroo while walking his dog. As with the natural instinct of a dog it chased the Kangaroo to a pond. That was where the Kangaroo became Ramboroo and kicked the dog into the water, almost drowning the little guy. The owner tried to rescue his dog but Ramboroo turn and attacked him. Don't worry both dog and master are fine as well as Ramboroo. So when you see a Kangaroo stay out of its way or else.... HERO PILOT

Doing my Internet Surfing and blog hopping, i have come across a lot of interesting stories. That includes Increasing Blog Article Quality that can help me better my blog site. If i keep up with the tips in the article i may finally be able to get that page rank i have been longing for.

Getting back to the real story, it has been on the news about the US Airway Flight 1549 crash landing in the frigid waters of the Hudson River. On board the flight was around 150 people including children and the crew. After just 30 seconds in the air US Airway Flight 1549 had a dangerous encounter with birds that lead to the failure of the two engines. The plane crash landed safely on the Hudson River, it is all thanks to the heroic effort of the pilot Chesley B. Sullenberger III. A pilot of 40 years experience clearly did a miraculous job of landing the plane on the water. All the passengers got out safe but were exposed to the cold air and frigid waters of Hudson River. In a sense its a small price to pay for being alive. Sullenberger did not deplane until he made sure that all the passengers and crew are safe. Now that's what a real pilot is, someone who looks after the safety and well being of the passengers as well as his crew. To Mr. Chesley Sullenberger my hats off to you, Thank you for a job well done!
