Stocking up on Cereal

I totally forgot to post about my trip to our local Acme. My children eat a lot of cereal, waffle or pancakes for breakfast. My stockpile of cereal had reached its lowest point, not one cereal left. When I heard about the great deal on cereal at any Acme supermarket I just had to make a trip. This was 1/7/13 and I did. 3 different transaction and paid a total of $9.06 for 12 box of cereal and 2 small jars of peanut butter. I was going to break it down but I can't seem to find my receipt. Next time I will be sure to break it down for you as well as the coupons I used.

Here is a list of what is going to be on sale for the month of January :

Super Bowl : big sale on soda, chips, dips, snacks, wings, sandwiches
Produce : great time to buy, citrus fruit full of vitamin c,broccoli, avocado, cabbage, cauliflower, pears, kiwi, grapefruits, carrots, cabbage and celery.
National Oatmeal month : great time to stock up on quacker oatmeal
Health : vitamin and cold medications
Clearance : Christmas decorations, lights, wrapping paper, gift sets, toys and candies

Keep your eyes peeled on your local supermarket circulars and stock up on them when they go on sale.

Free pure leaf after RR starting 1/13

Today I did a little side trip to my fav store,Walgreens. I got a free children's fish oil vitamins and Cracker Jack. The store manager happened to be by the counter when I came in. He know me by name. I asked if I could have next weeks ad, he then told me that he has a lot of the pure leaf drink on stock as it was going to be free starting 1/13. I was so happy to learn about this. I don't have to worry about clearing shelves. He knows that when their is a good freebie like beverage we take advantage of it. But, we do tell them before hand how much we're thinking of purchasing so they can order it for us. He assured me that he has more than enough to go around for other customers. That made my day. Once I got the ad in my hand I went about to check my store if they have it and how much they have. So far, I have only seen 1 freebie product after RR the rest I assume are still in the crates. They were still busy refilling shelves with new stock.

For sure I will be stopping by again, the cashier forgot to give me my RR when I bought the vitamins and the Cracker Jack. My RR's were already set aside for me to pick them up. It's good to know your store and the people. I consider them family.

Maximize Savings

With today's economy on the brink of recession, each one of us find many ways to save on our daily expenses. As a family of 4  depending on a single income, every saving is appreciated. As a stay at home mom, I vowed to find a way to help my husband maximize the value of a single dollar. That was a year ago last October that I consciously decided I wanted to use coupon to maximize my savings. Mind you, couponing is hard work, takes organization, skill, persistence and patience and a good understanding of each stores coupon policy. I did it by trial and error. I used spurned and look down on people who use coupon. Little did I know those people that use coupon are smarter than me. Ever since I started clipping coupons, we have saved hundreds on our grocery and household needs.

Coupons is not only limited to grocery stores, drugstores like Walgreens, RiteAid or CVS. Most company nowadays use coupon to entice new customers and keep regular customers loyal. Coupons can be found anywhere and with the convenience of the World Wide Web we don't even have to leave the comfort of our own home to shop.

If you like to shop online and love more savings on sale items? Stack up on online codes that you can redeem. Hundreds of stores have coupon codes out on a daily basis. One place where you can find tons of codes is the is Coupon Chief coupon codes, where hundreds of codes are regularly available and updated for people like you and me to use. I have visited so many coupon sites but, this takes the cake. Stores are in alphabetical order so you won't have any trouble finding a certain code for store. Famous stores like, Victoria Secret, Bath and Body Works, Forever XXI, Coach, Best Buy to name a few. You want a coupon code, they have it. So if you are in a mood to shop and maximize savings, be sure to check out the coupon chief. I for one will be sharing this with my coupon buddy as she loves to shop online. And with the Semi-annual sales going on, I might snag more for less buck.

TARGET MADNESS

Hey there peeps! Guess what I got at Target today?? Its been a while since I went to the mall so I asked hubby to take me today. Armed with my binder full of coupons I hit up Target. I try not to spend more than $20 at Target and today I did not disappoint myself.

Scouring for deals always makes my heart start pumping fast. The exhilaration I get for finding what I want is something else. Its like a drug, I get my high from couponing. And so I got exactly what I wanted. If you ask me about the KY Jelly the answer is, NO, we do not use them. I just got it solely for the purpose of getting a $10 Target GC and I will be giving the KY to my husband married niece and nephew. My total for today's haul is $12.81. Yes, you read it right. The only thing I got that I didn't have coupon for is the paper plate. But since we were out of it, I decided to get it and paid full price, lol. All together my trip to the Mall was a big success!

2 Colgate Total
1 Snytha bar
1 Reach Floss (not in picture)
2 Candy canes and
3 Holiday Pencils

Retail Value for the whole thing is $37.5o. And guess how much I paid for all that? Drum roll please..............

My total out of pocket was $.10 cents. Below is a picture of my actual receipts. I love couponing and I am going to keep on clipping and saving until they say that its illigal to coupon.

NEWEST HOBBY

Wow I have really been neglecting my blogs. The last time I updated was last year before the new year started. I guess It should be in one of my New Years resolution not to neglect my blogs and to keep updating even just once a week.

A big part to blame for my neglect is my newest addiction. Yes, I to have gotten addicted or got bitten by the bug. The coupon bug/addiction that is. I officially started couponing last October 2011 and have not stopped ever since. In fact, I have gone full speed ahead, lol. I am still a greenhorn compared to all those people that have been couponing for years. I am proud to say that I learned on my own with the help of a few websites.

As a stay at home mom, my days can be very boring. I miss the interaction with adult people and other people in general. Couponing has given me back my confidence to try out new things and be heard. Couponing has also given me back my body, lol. Since I have been couponing I have walked to our neares Walgreens almost everyday and its like a mile going to and back. Loosing weight the fun way and a way that I didn't even notice. Yes, couponing is fun for me, its my newest hobby and addiction. And no, I am not like those couponer on the show that has a big big stockpile. My stockpile is still growing everyday, little by little.

How about you? Have you thought about couponing?

COUPONS GALORE

I have been neglecting and procrastinating on writing post on my blog. I have just been so busy as of late and almost all my time is spent couponing. Its almost like a full time job and I have to keep track of all the coupon online and print them out. If my printer could talk it would probably tell me to give it a breather, lol. Since I started couponing almost 2 months ago I have used over 500 sheets of paper and used so much ink.
I have also clipped a whole bunch or coupons from news paper inserts and magazines. I never understood why those women who are on the Extreme Couponing show why they do this. Its the high and adrenaline rush that keeps you addicted. You feel your heart racing and pumping, your hands gets so cold and clammy when you see those numbers go higher and higher. You wonder how your are going to pay for it and start to get all nervous and scared. Then as you hand in your coupons you pray that you have a smooth transaction. The first beep of the coupon being scanned is like a tranquilizer. Calming you down little by little and then when you see that you have cut the cost to more than 50-90% , that is where you get a rush, an adrenaline rush like no other. It makes you smile from the inside.

Couponing is not as easy as it seems. It takes skills, concentration and keen eye for a good bargain for it to work. I am still a newbie and I do not claim to be good at it yet. But with trial and error and support from other couponeers I will become successful. In almost two months of couponing my stockpile has grown and will keep growing,lol.. Next time I will post a picture of my growing stockpile, lol

IT'S FUN

People have different ways to unwind, relax and have fun. My form of relaxing and my time is window shopping. I love window shopping, it doesn't bother me that I see things that I like but can't buy it. It gives the opposite feeling, makes me think if I really want it or need it. Once in a while I do give in and buy things that is purely a want. The one store that we frequent is Walmart, I love it. If you ask my 3 1/2 year old daughter why we always go to Walmart she will answer you " because its cheap!". Its not that its cheap and it mean of lesser quality, its not. Its just more affordable and very convenient for us. I'm loving my store more now that there is coupons for walmart. Now tell me, who is their right mind wouldn't want any coupons? With the recession still hot on our heels we need all the help we can get. All I can say is I am a proud Walmart shopper.
