LIL BABIES

Ralph found something in one of the bushes outside in our backyard. He was doing some yard work when he noticed out dog Sunny getting excited and going into the bush just outside our kitchen window. He was trimming the bush on the other side of the house and didn't think much about it. It wasn't until he to inspect the shrub that is just outside our kitchen that he saw it. A perfectly made nest with 3 little baby birds in it. Ralph got excited and called to me right away. I could not believe how perfectly shaped and strong the nest was. How can something so small without any hands or fingers do something so intricate and sturdy at the same time. Sunny must have seen the mama bird going in and out of the bushes and tried to catch it. We fell in-love with the baby birds and we have kept tabs on them. Making sure that Sunny doesn't keep going near the bush and to see if the mama bird does come back. Of course when the mama bird was not in the next with her babies, we saw her perching on the tree branch near the house keeping watch on her babies. It made me realize that even a bird with no hands or fingers can do something like this how much more with us humans. With 10 fingers and two hands. It just shows that nothing is impossible and it can be done. I have updates on the baby chick and ill tell you more about it on my next time...

HIS ALL OF THE ABOVE

Meet our very own personal lifeguard, pet, baby boy, kids pillow and so on. Labrador Retrievers are supposedly water dogs, well our dog must be different because he does not like to go swimming. He did fell in the pool about half a dozen times when he slips from doing his round around the pool deck. Yup, he patrols the surrounding area the deck that surround the pool. Once his satisfied that everything is up to par he lays down near me and just watches the kids splash in the water. He gets his share of getting splash but he does not mine, not with the weather being so hot. Sunny is the perfect house dog and we could not ask for anything more. The only thing that we need to work on is his chewing. He does not chew our couch or chairs but he chewed my sandal, my flip-flop and anything he can find that either belongs to me or the kids. He does this when we leave him alone in the house for a long period of time. It's like his showing how upset he is for getting left behind. And when he does something wrong he knows it to. As soon as we walk in the door and I see him with his head bowed and just has this remorseful look I know right away he did something. He can be a pain in the behind sometimes but we would not trade him for another dog.

HOLY MOLEY

That my friends is a MOLE. I think its just a baby one, found it on the ground in the backyard lifeless. What is a Mole? According to Wikipedia , Moles are the majority of the members of the mammal family Talpidae in the order Soricomorpha . Although moles burrow, some species are semi-aquatic. Moles have cylindrical bodies covered in fur while the ears are generally not visible. They have small or covered eyes and can probably still tell night from day, although they are otherwise blind. Moles eat small invertebrates living underground.

I believe our dog Sunny had a major part on the demise of these small mammal. The mole's diet consist of earthworms and for that reason I think I like them. Earthworms is among the list of my freak out fears, lol. But anyway, I felt bad for the little creature but I also can't blame our dog. He is only doing what is natural for him and this way its keeps them at bay and they won't keep burrowing under the ground and making holes in our backyard. I just hope that this little guy is the last of them.

KANGAROO or RAMBOROO

Kangaroo's are abound in Australia. I remember seeing a Kangaroo in person when I was about 4 years old. My mom and Dad took us to the circus where I got to see an Kangaroo in a boxing ring with gloves on. To me a Kangaroo is fluffy, soft, cuddly and hops around. But to one unfortunate Australian man the Kangaroo became Ramboroo. Chris Rickard a 49 year old man apparently startled a sleeping Kangaroo while walking his dog. As with the natural instinct of a dog it chased the Kangaroo to a pond. That was where the Kangaroo became Ramboroo and kicked the dog into the water, almost drowning the little guy. The owner tried to rescue his dog but Ramboroo turn and attacked him. Don't worry both dog and master are fine as well as Ramboroo. So when you see a Kangaroo stay out of its way or else.... SAM AND HER BABY PUPPIES

June 6th, Saturday, I got a call from my BIL Angelo letting me know that Sam is having her puppies. She only had 4 when he called me and of course I was excited to see the new puppies. I hurriedly called Ralph and asked if it was alright with him if MIL, Kaitlyn, Kayla and I take a drive over to Angelo's to see the new puppies and stay overnight. Ralph said it was fine with him since he is working and won't be able to spend time with us anyway. So off I hurried like a bee, packing stuff here and there. As soon as we were ready we head on out. By the time we got there Sam already had 8 puppies. They are pure breed Labrador Retriever.
We oohhhed and ahhhhed over the new puppies and Sam was gracious enough to let us touch and hold her babies. Kayla asked if she could have a puppy and we all laughed, I just told her that daddy and I had to talk about it. If we were to get a dog I would pick the black one. When they transferred Sam to the basement she had her last puppy and that made a total of 9 puppies.

LEARNING TO FLY

Something weird happen to us after we had our Ice Cream run last Sunday. As we were walking up to our door we heard a loud thump. I turned around and asked Ralph what it was. He had a shock look on his face and said that a bird just hit the side door of our van. True to his word a bird was laying on the side of the van. It was just a baby bird learning to fly. The mama and daddy bird was circling above chirping and calling their baby. The poor bird probably hurt himself and could only fly a couple of feet at a time. We decided to leave the bird hoping it would eventually learn to fly off. After the kids were asleep Ralph checked the backyard just to make sure if the baby bird got to flying. He came back inside telling me that the bird is still out there. We decided to put him the bird cage we had in the basement and just keep him for the night in the bathroom so the cats won't get to him. Ralph got up early to hunt some worms in the backyard and fed it to the baby bird. When it was sunny and warm enough we let it out of the cage and just put him in the backyard. He must have learn to fly since we could not find him later that afternoon. I would like to think that his mom and dad found him and helped him fly back to their nest.
