WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY

I am not an Internet or computer savvy person that my husband likes to think, lol. Sure I know my way around the Web but that's about it. When it comes to computer, I am totally lost. Just a last week I was in a tizzy trying to connect my laptop to our wireless printer. Why? I needed another computer to print out more coupons. It took me a couple of days of tinkering and searching online, even asked dear hubby to help me out but, no luck. No matter what I did I could not get the get to connect my laptop to my printer. One research said that if connecting it wirelessly won't work then I may need to have a computer network cable. After reading that I had asked myself what have a gotten myself into. Searched high and low in our house hoping that dear husband might have a computer network cable stashed somewhere. No suck luck. Then I read that I need to have the disc for the printer in order to have the software in my computer. Did a quick search of all our computer disk and I found it. After downloading the software, my printer was up and running in no time.

MOVING SPACE

My kids has so many toys that It is so hard to keep it in one place. I already have 2 toy organizers for them but they need more space to run around in the playroom. As you may not know the playroom also serves as our computer room. The computer along with Ralph's filing cabinet occupies half of the space along the wall. He already knows that I am going to rearrange the place and maybe get rid of some things. In order for me to move the computer to one side of the wall we may have to get new HDMI cables to replace the old ones. I have been wanting to move the computer but I didn't want to mess up anything. Now, its a different story. The kids are getting into Ralph documents and we have to move it so as to give the kids more space.

If all my planning works I will be able to move the kids television towards the center of the wall but I may also need new VGA cable for it. They love watching tv in the playroom and it allows Ralph and I to watch our shows in the family room. I get so excited when a plan forms in my head. What I need now is for Ralph to help me out move the heavy stuff so I can get the ball rolling. I may have to wait a little bit with him going back to work again but I can try and get all the cable I will be needing. Since I lost some of my cable attachment for my camcorder. At least it eases my mind that Panasonic Electronics has all the accessories that I lost from my last vacation.

WHAT TO GET

I am in a look out for a good electronic and gadget sale. Why you may ask? My husband's birthday is coming up fast and I have yet to find the perfect gift for him. My husband only wants one thing for his birthday and that is he gets an ice cream cake. I have told him a million times that Kaitlyn was my gift to me almost 3 years ago and will continue to be my gift for the next 15 years, lol. But seriously, I want to get him something that can put a smile on his face. I'm not really into gadget and electronics but I'm pretty sure I can find something, perhaps more of those hard drives. Knowing my husband he will just say not to worry about him and instead of buying for him to just buy something for Kaitlyn who happens to share his birth date, lol.

MR. LAPPY

Do you know the good thing about having a laptop is that you can stay online surfing the net or just checking your e-mail anywhere around the house? Laptops nowadays are no longer considered a want but a need, most specially to students that do a lot of research and term papers. My laptop was a gift from hubby last 2008. It's only been lately that I have been using my laptop on a daily basis for the purpose of watching the newest show I am crazy about. With my frequent use I have been noticing that my computer has been running slow of late. I worry if its a virus or if I have used up almost all of the laptop memory. I really hope its not a virus coz if it is I can't afford to have this fixed. Having someone look at your computer or laptop is downright expensive that sometimes it comes to a point its better to buy a new one instead having your old one fix. If that happens I have my eye set on getting those handy Ipad. I really shouldn't get it or even ask my hubby to buy it for me as a gift coz I am not techno savvy and I really have no use for it. I will just have to make sure that my anti-virus is working hard and is keeping those darn viruses at bay.

MOTHER'S DAY GIFT

I am Ms. Practicality, well most of the time. Before buying things I usually think if I need it or I just want it. You see wanting and needing are to different things. Want is something that you really desire and fills almost your every thought or dreams but you don't have any practical use for it. Need on the other hand is something you have to get for the reason that is it useful to you and you use it frequently. I am like that, I do want a lot of things but I try to decide all the time if I want or need it. Lets take for example the newest gift I got for Mother's day from my husband. I have been looking at ipods online and in the stores for the longest time. It is really just a want for my case since I really don't have any use for it. That did not stop me from hounding hubby if he would get it for me as a Mother's day gift. He did not looked convinced when I told him why I wanted it but he knew how long I have been dying to own one so I could listen to music while I clean the house and exercising. By the looks of it I was not getting it but the day before Mother's day he presented me with my very own Ipod Nano. I was so happy but I felt guilty right after. Guilty because I know how much it cost and It is not a need for me but just a want. Oh well, I don't splurge on any other stuff anyways. The two most expensive things I have are my laptop and Ipod. Next time I will try to be more and more practical and only ask hubby to get me gifts that I could really use and need around the house. Aside from what I got I still consider myself Ms. Practicality. How about you?

ONLINE FUN

As a stay at home mom, I am the first one to admit that I do get bored. Who wouldn't get bored with just a child and pets for company and just the walls in the house. I can only take so much and I crave the freedom of going outside at times. While its still cold I do enjoy playing some great games online. I love playing Westward 1-4 but I was not able to play the 3rd installment since our old computer before didn't have the right video card for the game. But ever since we got the new computer I have not had any problems with playing online games. In fact the graphics of the games I play have gotten better. I guess our new computer has better graphics and the video card is bigger and more advanced. The downside to playing to much games online? Your house hold chores suffer and your house will end up looking like a mess.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, WELCOME 2010 !!!

Just a few minutes ago it was still 2009 then the countdown started to usher in the New Year 2010. It's a quiet celebration for all of us here since its just me and MIL, Kaitlyn tucked in bed and Ralph at work. However, Ralph was on the phone with me when the countdown started and we got to greet each other. I miss my husband but I know he is out there working to provide for us. MIL got teary eyed as always and we gave each other hugs and kisses. We shared some brownies that I baked for sweetness in the New Year while watching the rest of the 2010 countdown on our HDTV that we got a few months back. MIL loves and hates HDTV, she said it makes some of the people look fat. Oh well, as long as its colored and I can watch my favorite show I could care any less what it is,lol... Happy New Year again everyone!!!
