OUR FIRST GRADER

Picture above was taken on Kayla's first day of school as a first grader last Aug 19,2009. She is flanked on both sides by her friends Kelly on the left and Tamara on the right. We woke up to a nice warm morning, Kayla woke up excited about going back to school and seeing Kelly and Tamara at the bus stop. She was adamant about making us take the puppies to the bus stop to see her off. Of course we obliged her thinking how hard could it be. It was difficult trying to make two puppies walk while walking a 22 month old and a 6 yr old,lol...The puppies got so excited at the bus stop seeing a lot of kids and adults that we had to keep them away from the crowd. Ralph and I really didn't get to savor the moment of getting her off for the first time in this school year because of the puppies.

The picture below is of Kayla getting off the bus that same day, she was still brimming with excitement and was extra happy to see her best friend Tracy at the bus stop with us. She gave her baby sister a big hug first then us. Kids have so much energy that I just want to bottle up that energy and drink it up as the day goes.
The last is of the girls walking home hand in hand. Tracy is the one in pink, Kaitlyn in the middle and Kayla in blue. They was just walking and babbling away like they had not seen each other for so long. Kids are so funny.

KAYLA IN HER CLASSROOM

Photos were taken after Kayla's awarding ceremony last Friday. Kaitlyn wanted to be with her sister so bad that she kept following her and even went as far as going inside Kayla's art room class. The teacher didnt even see that she had an extra student on her hand, lol. We signed her out of her art class and we went to her room to get her book bag. Second photo was Kayla showing her baby sister where they sit down for story time and circle time. She showed her baby sister everything in the classroom and was so proud to introduce her baby sister to her teacher Ms. Fisher. She is such a good girl and little or big achievements we are proud of you manang..

KAYLA WITH HER AWARD

May 15, 2009 Friday we went to Kayla's school to show how proud we are of her. She was among the selected student to win a Wilbur Award for being such a good student. It's the school's way of encouraging the kids and rewarding the good traits and attitude towards teachers and fellow students. She looked so beautiful marching in the multi-purpose room. Kaitlyn was of course all over her sister and while they were seated on the floor she sat in Kayla's lap the whole time. Kayla's mom Dawnita was also there. It makes me happy to see that event like these she will know that she is very much loved. Kayla, we love you and Daddy, Menie(me), Grandma and Kaitlyn are so proud of you!

BROKEN SCHOOL ATTENDANCE

Education is a very important thing that we as a parent can give to our children. Ralph is a staunch believer that children should get educated, not miss school except of emergencies or when they are really sick. Since Kayla has started Kindergarten in September she has not missed any day of school and has the awards every month to prove it. She loves going to school and is striving right before our very eyes. Ralph is usually the one who does the homework with Kayla, he is such a patient and wonderful dad. I for one am not a very patient, good and understanding teacher that is why i try to get out of doing homework, lol... I know, i should and i do when Ralph has no time so Kayla and I do homework. I tell my husband all the time that I'm very very lucky to have married such an intelligent man. Thank God our kids seems to have his brain because mama does not do to well on certain subjects. As of today Kayla has missed school due to the fact that her mother did not meet Ralph yesterday as per the court order. He is deeply upset that Kayla missed school just because her mother is being difficult. We had been on pins and needle waiting for her call where and when Kayla will be dropped off. Finally this afternoon at 2 p.m. she called to ask Ralph to meet at the halfway point. Thank God Kayla will not be missing another day of school tomorrow.
