WATER CLEAR

At long last, our pool has finally cleared up! We opened our pool a few days before the Memorial day holiday. Ralph's plan was to have the pool ready by Memorial day since we were going to have a barbecue with the family. We did get the pool ready for swimming but we could not get it to clear up.. All the chemicals were perfect but the pool water was still cloudy. Even though the water was cloudy that didn't stop the kids from enjoying the pool. Ralph assured me that it was safe for the kids to get in the pool. Ralph was getting frustrated with how the pool water looked. He had already spent a lot of money on pool chemicals. He was just about ready to drain the pool and start all over again.

I convinced him to just give it a few more days and just let the pool filter do its job. If it still won't clear up after a few days I told him i would help him drain the pool. Thankfully i was right, the pool cleared up day after day until finally we could see the bottom of our pool. We were both ecstatic. I knew it was only a matter of time until the pool water clears up. The pool filter just needed to run a good amount. Every morning either Ralph and I would go check if the pool got clear. I am just glad for Ralph that he finally got the result he wanted. We are definitely ready, BRING IT ON!

CLEAR BLUE

On cold and windy day like today reminds me of how much I miss Summer and our swimming pool. Make me appreciate the cool water against the glare of the heat beating down on my skin. The crystal clear water that just begs you to dive in and get wet. The kids missed the swimming pool and the way it was in the summer. They miss going outside in just their shorts, short sleeves and flip flops. The clear blue waters have now been covered by a black tarp, soon to be covered in leaves and small twigs. I am just thankful that we winterized our pool without any incident and damage. I cannot wait to open the pool up again next season..

OFFICIALLY CLOSED

What a bummer that Summer is over. Yesterday the pool was officially closed for the season. It would have been closed Monday but Ralph had so many things to do. The pool was ready by Wednesday with all the chemicals in and ready for the winter. All we needed to do yesterday was cover the pool. Sounds easy but its a far more annoying thing to do. At least we finally got the pool closed and hopefully when the next pool opening it wont be bad. After doing all that was supposed to be done we headed off to our favorite Chinese buffet restaurant. How I love eating out buffet style, you get to have your fill with anything and its cheaper. We came home with a full belly but not without any regrets about eating way way to much. Oh well, life will move on and I will eventually loose a couple of pounds. When or how that I do not know....

FIRST DIP IN THE POOL

This photo was taken a couple of days before the princess bruiser got sick. Our pool has been open now for more than a week. I however, did not go in the pool when I took this one since it was still way to cold for me. Ralph and the kids braved the cold water to cool off from the scorching heat of the sun. Kayla is in her life vest/ bathing suit since it allows her to swim around the pool without sinking. She is still learning to swim in the pool and it allows her to have freedom to swim which ever way she wants to go. As for the lil' bruiser, she does not like staying in her floater for very long. She prefers the comfort of somebody holding on to her. Thank God we have a pool or else we would have been driving back and forth to my BIL house every weekend.
