SITTING BUDDIES

Just an update and pictures of her newest buddy and best friend when her manang "big sister" is not around. Yes, the doll was worth the $19.99 that i paid for since she clearly adores and loves the doll. I guess it keeps her company when her sister is not there with her. I have never encourage her to watch, play or even like Dora. Don't get me wrong i have nothing against Dora,i just feel like its over rated that almost all little girls love her. But even without any encouragement she still got attached and on the Dora phase. So before i go on and keep babbling let me show you some pictures of her and Dora while lounging one her Dora seat/couch and watching television.

She does talk to Dora and points out things to her. For her, Dora is the nicest doll since it never disagrees with her and can be carried anywhere she goes..

TOASTY WARM

No school tomorrow yehey!! I can at least sleep in a little bit until the baby and Kayla starts clamoring for there respective breakfast. Why is there no school tomorrow? Its VETERANS DAY, a day of remembering and celebrating our veterans who have bravely fought the wars and defended our country. I remembered a couple of months ago when Ralph did an escort for the Veterans going to Washington, he was in good company with old yet wise old men. Since it is a holiday Sears Veterans Day Sale is going on. They are giving 60% off on sale items like outerwear for men and women. The sale has already started yesterday November 9, 2008 and will end on tomorrow November 11, 2008. I would love to buy something i can use and that will keep me warm on days that i walk Kayla to the bus stop. I just found the perfect item!

The Classic Element 3/4 hooded down jacket is just what i need to keep me toasty warm on those cold winter days when i have to step outside. With that jacket on i will certainly brave the cold wind and be perfectly comfortable snuggled inside its warmth. If your like me who wants to stay warm all the time you better hustle up and get your butt off the chair and head on for SEARS. You still got time to purchase much needed clothing at a good price..

WINTER IS HERE

A few days ago the tree in front of our house started loosing its leaf, and now today only a handful of leaves are left hanging on as if for dear life. Ralph said "well honey, its finally winter since all the trees are shaking its leaf." What i love about Autumn is the changing of the foliage from green to brown, yellow, red and gold. On mornings that i walk with Kayla to the bus stop we usually pass under this one tree and it feels so calming and earthy specially when the leaves fall around you. The front of the porch is covered in leaves and i don't even want to look at the backyard. I cant hardly see the ground in the backyard with all the fallen leaves. Next week well probably spend one day raking up all the leaves and bagging them. I don't think 20 bags is enough! I cant wait for snow since it will be Kaitlyn first time to finally see it, touch it and taste it. Its going to be pretty interesting how she reacts to the snow and I'm sure big sister will have fun playing with her and daddy outside. I'll probably play for a little bit with them but will soon escape inside the house with a warm cocoa drink in my hand.

HERE I COME Kmart !!!

Its no secret that we are all experiencing the economy crunch and its up to us to stretch a buck. Christmas is in a month and we all know what that means money, money, money. We have two kids and since our priority are the kids, husband and I are going to take a step back on buying something for ourselves. But since Kmart Lay-Away we don't have to skimp on ourselves anymore. What's great about the Kmart's Lay-Away Program is that you can actually pick an item you want, bring it to the counter and choose the payment method you can afford. That's what got me sold is the payment method. Frankly,we can't afford to buy something over $150 upfront cash down or even credit. With the payment method it's not too heavy on your pocket and before you know it the item is all yours.

Ralph and I have been discussing about getting a new mattress but kept putting it off since we could not afford it just yet and would wait until next year for the tax money. Well forget about next year's tax money, because Memory foam mattress here i come. What's not to love about the 6 " inch memory foam? It conforms to your body structure so goodbye to body pain, its soft but most of all its made from all-natural ingredients, by the time i lay down on the bed ill be in la la land.

HER NEWEST PAL

Friday MIL and I both got our flu shot. After the doctors we went to Happy Harry's to drop off her prescription. While there Kaitlyn saw this woman holding a big stuff Dora doll in her arms. Kaitlyn kept pointing to is and saying Dora, well in baby talk. She would try and grab the doll and would wiggle in my arms so she could at least touch the doll. I went on a hunt around the store but to no avail, finally i asked the manager. He found another Dora doll and i was floored how much it was, $19.99 Kaitlyn grabbed in right away and hugged the doll and squealed in delight. I went looking for MIL and complained how expensive it was. I was not going to buy that but the little one was so adamant and wouldn't let Dora go. MIL got upset with me for teasing the baby and not giving it to her. I only had $15 with me and she immediately volunteered to pay for the rest. I'm still hurting by that buy,lol but when i look at her and how happy she is with her doll it magically disappears.

So here it is, her newest pal bigger than life.

It's almost as tall as her but she carries it around the house everywhere..

GOING, GOING AND GONE!!!

Divorce is a very tough thing for the family both emotionally and financially. The division of property is one of the financial burden that Ralph has been trying to get done and over with. For over a year now Ralph has been trying to sell his boat. He doesn't want to but its part of the property settlement of his divorce. Its not easy trying to sell something you love. I for one have come to love the boat and going out boating in summer time. Last summer we didn't really get to go out boating that much since that baby was still to young. Ralph and I did go out twice just the two of us on a date. I helped him wash, clean the boat and even sewed up a tiny portion of the seat cover that came off. We have had several offers but nothing ever pushed through since the offer is way below the value of the boat. He has tried putting signs in front of his boat, telling the marina personnel that his selling his boat, advertised on the news paper and still nothing. Then I thought about iSold It on eBay many people from all over the world have chosen to sell stuff on eBay. From the jewelries, toys, clothes, art and many more. And who knows we might end up having to say " going going and gone!"

READY OR NOT

The much awaited ELECTION of the century is going to happen tomorrow. The polling place I'm sure will be jam packed with people of all ages, race, religion and sexes. I hope MIL will be up and about and out the door early in the morning to line up to vote. I'm kind of worried about her going as there might be long lines and long wait. She had both knee surgery last year and i told her to bring her walker that has a seat with her tomorrow so if she gets tired she can sit on it. Ill be watching the news and robbing the kids of there show tomorrow... To all the voters out there, please be prepared, safe and choose wisely. Go out and vote!!!

GOOD LUCK!

HELPING HAND

As a parent, i have always heard about Autism and it is generally common among kids and can also affect adults. About 1 out of 150 children is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by the age of 5 years old or even younger. Autism is a brain development disorder that is characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior. Parents with autistic child/children usually don't know what to expect and are more times overwhelmed with lack of information and lack of support from families and friends. The Autism Support Network is a group of individuals from parents, grandparents, doctors and many more who converge in this one network to help and lend more understanding, support and knowledge about Autism. Who else can help and know you better and what your family is going through than people who have dedicated their lives to help find more ways on how children can overcome and be more productive individuals? Parents don't have to feel hopeless, afraid and uncertain, one can certainly find a lot of help for Autism, you just have to know where to look and a helping hand will certainly be extended out to your family.

EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT!!

Whats for breakfast? Get a good look and I'm sure most Filipino bloggers will be able to guess what i had for breakfast. I didn't buy this but made it myself. All i do is freeze them or refrigerate and steam when I'm in the mood for it. I know, i know i should eat healthier but i just couldn't resist my steamed buns(siopao) paired with ice cold coca cola. Can you see? Its still steaming hot...yum yum yummy!!!

AS SHE TURNS A YEAR OLD

My first born is one year old and i feel like i have been cheated. Time has robbed me of my memories of her when she was just an infant. My brain has been foggy, it just cleared when Kaitlyn was 6 months old. Where did the time go?Did it just flew by me? Or i was to wrapped up with the thought of trying to be a good mother to both kids. All i know is that she is growing up very very fast
.

Kaitlyn was in her element yesterday and was having such a blast with her uncle Angelo. It didn't happen right away though, when they first arrived she was like an octopus. Arms and legs wrapped around my neck and my body so tight like she wanted to crawl inside of me and hide, lol. It took her about a good 2-30 minutes before she actually warmed up to her uncle Angelo. After that forget it she was all over him. Wasn't able to take a good picture of her with her birthday dress that we got at Walmart for $16 and the little patent black shoes for $9. She looked so cute and so girlie, lol. Here are just a few of the pictures taken yesterday.

We didn't get to take a picture of her blowing out her cake wearing her birthday dress, i changed her too early as i know she would want to eat a piece of her cake as soon as they were down blowing out the candles. Oh well! The important thing is she had fun and got what she wanted, a piece of cake!

yummy! at last i got to eat another birthday cake again!!!

BIRTHDAY TOGETHER!!!

It's there FIRST BIRTHDAY TOGETHER AS FATHER AND DAUGHTER.It was a year ago that i gave birth and officially became a mama. The hours, days, weeks, months pass so fast like winged birds. Now a year will come to pass, a milestone for each one, specially my first born. This year we will be able to celebrate Daddy's birthday properly as last year we couldn't do it since you,Kaitlyn Hope was born on his birthday. How happy we were to find out that my due date was on Oct 22 and you were right on time. I was scheduled for an Induction on that day Oct22,2007 Monday but you were already raring to come out,i was already in labor the whole day of Sunday but it started to get intense early morning of Monday the day you were born. I was woken up from sleep with such an intense pain that it took my breath away,i knew in my heart you were coming. Got to the hospital at 4 am, we were suppose to be there by 6 am for the induction well, we had an early start,lol.. Still even when i was in labor they gave me the pitocin as scheduled. The pain of labor was intolerable,i felt like i was being ripped apart and wondered if i could survive. I wanted to cry when i called your grandma (my mom) to let her know we were at the hospital already. I wanted her hugs and kisses, her comfort and her soothing words. I had to control myself from crying,i had to be strong and brave. The epidural was a blessing,it stopped the pain but not entirely,i still felt pressure and something like someone was squeezing my stomach. It was bearable though, you were born at exactly 3:12 pm. I cried for now reason other than joy, relief and love. You were a little person inside of me.

The very first thing i said to you was " LANGGA ANAK" (BELOVED CHILD)Daddy cut the cord that tied you and me together for 9 months. Daddy cried with happiness. You are the best birthday present he ever got!!!

Daddy, we love you so much. You have given me the most precious of all, a daughter. As you turn 39 you have become more gorgeous and hunky in my eyes. Dont change because I LOVE YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!!

KAITLYN HOPE
My first born. You are the love of my life, you bring joy to everyone around you. Time has changed you from an infant and now your my little person. You walk like you own the very space you walk on. You light up my day everytime you hug me and kiss me. I cant fully express how much i love you, i just know in my heart you are there and will always be. Dont grow up to fast. You are my BELOVED CHILD *LANGGA*
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY

MONO DESEASE/ KISSING DISEASE

Last month we found out that one of Ralph's niece is sick. She has this disease called mono. This was my first time ever hearing about that disease.I looked it up on the net and this is what i found out about it:

Mono or Mononucleosis
is a an infectious disease caused by Epstein-Barr virus . Mono or "the kissing disease" can easily be spread through saliva,by sharing drinks food and utensils. Common among teens from 15-35 yrs of age

Signs of Mono
These are just the common sign : fever, headaches, sore throat, white patches on the back of your throat, fatigue, depression and not wanting to eat.

Treatment
Drinking plenty of liquids and juice rich in vitamin c.
plenty of rest
lozenges for sore throat or gargling with warm salt water

As far as i have read Mono or the Kissing disease is not a life threatening one as long as the person infected by the disease takes plenty of rest and drinks lots of liquid. I must admit i haven't really gone onto an in dept research about Mono but i was just curious about the disease as it was my first time to hear about it. Ill do more readings and research about this and ill update on what i have learned.

CRIB PROTECT

Keeping our kids safe and out of harm is every parents priority. We take extra care not to let even the smallest of bugs to get on our kids skin, clothes, toys and specially crib or bed. It would be a nightmare waking up with your child's scream that something stung them and even more terrifying if its from a bark scorpion. The most common and potentially deadly to our kids, they are small about 1 1/2 -2 inches in size, the only scorpion that can climb and packs a punch of venom worse for children. The scorpion sting can cause frothing at the mouth, difficulty breathing leading to respiratory paralysis, numbing, muscle twitching and convulsion.

Its a good thing there is a way to prevent this scorpion sting from happening, scorpion prevention was invented by the tireless efforts of two Tucson, Arizona Entrepreneur Mothers. Through research they have found out that the only material scorpions are not able to crawl is glass, hence the birth of the CLEAN GLASS SCORPION CONTAINERS . Installation of the scorpion safe is as easy as 1-2-3, fits most bed and crib legs. Don't take the risk of having to wake up with your children's cry at night. Take the stand and protect your family.
